Frequently Asked Questions
What happens after I get in touch?
Individual Therapy
Once I receive a request to book an appointment I will send you our intake form which asks you to provide some more details about you including your GP, address, date of birth and emergency contact. You will also be asked to read our privacy policy and consent to the storing of your data (in a GDPR compliant way) so that we can best support you during therapy. I will send you more information about the way we work and our agreement.
Once you have returned the forms, we will be in touch with our appointment booking link and invoice for the session. If you prefer we can arrange a free 15 minute call to see if we are a good fit before agreeing to work together but I will still need some basic information from you before we arrange this.
Corporate Requests
When I receive a request I will be in touch to arrange an initial call and discuss the project in more detail. If you prefer we can arrange a free 15 minute call to check if we are a good fit and ensure that I have availability to support the project you have in mind.
Supervision
Once you contact me to let me know you would like to explore supervision together, we will arrange a free 15 minute call to check if we are a good fit before proceeding.

Please note - any requests or emails will be replied to as soon as possible and I aim to get back to you within one week. Please be mindful that I work elsewhere during the middle of the week and so have other commitments.
Do you provide a crisis service?
No. Solmira Psychology is not able to support in a crisis as the business is not open 24/7 and does not have access to a multi-disciplinary team e.g. psychiatry, nursing, GPs.
In an emergency or mental health crisis please contact your GP during hours, NHS 24 by calling 111, or if you require urgent support please contact 999 to request an ambulance.

Is therapy confidential?
What is discussed in therapy is confidential unless I have any indication that I need to share information with other agencies or professionals to protect you or others from harm. This is a standard part of all therapy agreements, and part of my professional code of conduct and duty as a Clinical Psychologist.
We will discuss any concerns when they arise, and make a plan together when possible as to how the information is shared, with whom and when this will be shared.
As part of our work we might agree to send a summary of our work to others such as your GP or employer to help them understand what we are doing in our time together. We can discuss this in a session and agree a cost and time commitment for this.
Do you accept insurance clients?
Not currently as Solmira Psychology is not yet registered with insurance companies. If you have an insurance policy with a particular company please get in touch to let me know so we can discuss ways in which I can still support you. Many insurance companies will allow clients to pick their therapist and reimburse them for the sessions, especially if this clinician is an expert in the area they are seeking support for or trained to provide a specific intervention e.g. EMDR.
